Sugar Cookie Dough For Cookie Decorating
Recipe type: Cookies
Serves: 24

This sugar cookie recipe is very super easy! I love this recipe because you don’t have to have your butter at room temperature!
Ingredients
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter = 1 cup of butter (make sure to cut into cubes)
  • 3 cups of All-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1½ tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp Almond Extract
  • ½ tsp salt
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl add your dry ingredients: Flour, salt and baking powder. Using a whisk, mix all ingredients well. Set a side.
  2. In a small bowl add your wet ingredients: Egg, vanilla and almond extract. Put to the side.
  3. In your Kitchen Aid mixer & paddle attachment add sugar and cubed butter. Mix for 4 minutes till texture is creamy. Scrape bowl and paddle.
  4. Next add in your egg, vanilla & almond extract. Mix thoroughly till mixture is creamy.
  5. Now add your dry ingredients {flour, salt, baking soda} to your mixture. Make sure you add the dry ingredients ½ a cup at a time. Mix well and in between scrap your bowl. Dough will turn into a large ball once it is mixed well.
  6. To Cut cookies:
  7. On a dry surface place a large piece of wax paper and flour the top surface.
  8. Flour your rolling pin and roll the dough to the thickness of the cookie you want it to be. Use your favorite cookie cutter and cut into shapes.
  9. Using a cookie sheet, I use parchment paper so my cookie dough cut outs won’t stick.
  10. Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees, bake your cookies for 6 minutes or till they’re slightly golden brown.
  11. Once they’re done, I let them cool on a cookie rack. Once they are cooled, time to decorate with royal icing!
  12. Enjoy!
